What’s a Hero

Wednesday, April 6th, 2016

heroes

With Iron Man, Captain America, X-Men, Spider Man, and so many other movies making their second and third (and fourth!) sequels this summer, there seem to be heroes everywhere you look. While the movies each portray a hero in a spandex suit—with logos and shields across their chests, we’re wondering what a real hero really is.

Maybe your hero really is a movie star. Or maybe your hero is your dad, your favorite school teacher, or a notable person in history. Here at Huckleberry’s, we have our share of heros. Famous ones, at that. We think our famous toasted heroes are so good, they’ll have you coming back for “sequels” time and time again.

Each of our heroes are served up fresh on a sourdough roll. Our BBQ’ED Hog Hero features shredded pork topped with BBQ sauce, caramelized onions and melted Jack cheese. If you’re in the mood for a club sandwich, try our Smokey Bacon Club Hero, filled with ham, turkey and bacon topped with lettuce, tomato and melted Jack cheese. Or, if you’d like a real adventure for your tastebuds, try our Sante Fe Chicken Hero. It’s loaded with braised chicken breast topped with lettuce, tomato, green chiles and Jack cheese.

And with each of our heros priced at less than 10 dollars, we’ hope you’re up for the adventure.

Bananas

If you’re looking for a new take on the classic banana for breakfast we’ve got a treat for you.  Our Banana Foster is a substantial upgrade in the flavor department over the every day banana.

When you order the Banana Foster you’re getting sliced bananas and pecans in a warm caramel sauce.  The bananas are always fresh cut and on their own would make for a great tasting snack, but then you factor in the pecans and the amazing caramel sauce, it’s a flavorful masterpiece that you can only find at Huckleberry’s. Blue Bayou Burger

Blue Bayou Burger

When it comes to lunch or dinner, people often look at a burger as a safe choice, and really in many ways, it is. You can get a burger at a lot of places.

Finding a burger like this one is another story though. At Huckleberry’s, we take our burgers seriously, and the Blue Bayou Burger is all business!

We start of with a 1/3 lb. ground sirloin beef patty between a premium hamburger bun. That beef is basted with our bold, bourbon barbeque sauce, topped off with bleu cheese crumbles. Top it off with some onion tanglers, and you’ve got a thing of beauty in the works. Then, like all of our burgers, you can expect lettuce, tomato, and pickles to accompany the glory that is between the bun. And rounding it all out is your choice of side dish, as if the burger wasn’t already going to be a handful to fit in your stomach. (more…)

These country reds will turn some heads

Potato BackgroundOne thing we love to put onto a lot of plates at Huckleberry’s are our country reds. There’s just something about potatoes that makes them a great addition to any dish. It just seems unfathomable to imagine a dish that you think would have been better off without the potatoes.

Amazing taste and universal compatibility with main entrées isn’t the only great thing about our country reds though. There’s a lot of other health to be had from red potatoes. Check out a few of them below courtesy of the good people at Livestrong.com
__________

The potato is the most popular vegetable in the United States and the red variety is the most common vegetable grown in American gardens. Red potatoes are named for the rosy appearance of their skin. The flesh inside is firm and white. Red potatoes are often used as the primary ingredient for potato salads. They provide many health benefits to the consumer of this popular produce. (more…)

Always Fresh Orange Juice

oj

Orange juice is generally one of those beverages where you can’t go wrong. Few people, if any one, dislike it, even if it’s of the low-grade, frozen concentrate variety. Orange juice just has a sweetness and refreshment to it that can perfectly compliment just about any taste.

And even more rare than finding a person who dislikes orange juice would be finding somebody who doesn’t like freshly squeezed orange juice.

Such a delicacy takes a bit more effort and fruit to make happen, but is also something worth going to extra mile for every time around. (more…)

Try Soup in a Bread Bowl

Bread Bowl

Soup is one of those “can’t go wrong” kind of choices. At Huckleberry’s, we don’t want you just feeling like you didn’t do wrong though. We want you leaving thinking you absolutely nailed it with your order. So when it comes to soups, we feel good about what we’ve got available to you. It might not be all kinds of diverse, but a good soup doesn’t have to be that. A good soup can be something nice and simple, and getting a whole lot better when it’s paired with another full entrée. A morning juice for a morning boost

Monday, March 14th, 2016

Tomato JuiceA lot, if not most people out there prefer to go with juice with their breakfast rather than something like a soda. With your body needing its most important refuel after a long night of sleep, the healthier fruit juices appeal a lot more than the likes of a soda to wash down your meal.

When you come in to Huckleberry’s, we’ve got you covered when it comes to some excellent juices, a few of which comes loaded with some appeal to your healthier side. Today we’re talking about one of those in particular with the health benefits packed into tomato juice.

The taste will be a little change from the likes of the sweet, citrus flavors of a more common drink like orange juice, but there’s still a ton to enjoy. And topping off that flavor is a ton of health benefits that will help you tackle the day with all kinds of vigor. The folks over at Livestrong.com did a feature a while back that covers some of the finer points about the health benefits packed into tomato juice. Take a look at a few of them below… (more…)
