A waffle worthy of our name

Tuesday, May 17th, 2016

Blueberry WafflesNo restaurant is going to slap its name on any old entrée without it being something excellent.

So when it comes to The Huckleberry waffle, you know we mean business with it! Like all our big flaky waffles, we start off with a crisp Belgian style waffle cooked to golden perfection. Then on top, we smother that waffle with a delicious blend of huckleberries and blueberries.

For those who prefer their waffles topped with fruit instead of syrup, this will undoubtedly be an absolute delight. And even for those who prefer syrup, this just might change your mind on that for good. And as is the case with all our waffles, you can add two eggs along with a choice of smoked bacon, sausage links, or ham to your entrée for only a bit more.

Give this entrée worthy of our restaurant’s name a try today!

You’ll Love Our Flapjacks

Tuesday, April 12th, 2016

At Huck’s we’ve always got the foods you’re craving.  If your cravings are demanding a delicious breakfast covered in syrup, flapjacks are the answer.  One of the questions we get frequently is what differentiates flapjacks and pancakes and the answer is simple.

The difference between flapjacks and pancakes comes down to their ingredients and how they’re cooked. Flapjacks are flat cakes made out of a mixture of oats and butter with added sugar. They are made in the oven. Pancakes are made out of flour, milk and eggs and are prepared by frying.  Now that we’ve got that cleared up come in and enjoy the best flapjacks around!

Always Fresh Orange Juice

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016

Orange juice is generally one of those beverages where you can’t go wrong. Few people, if any one, dislike it, even if it’s of the low-grade, frozen concentrate variety. Orange juice just has a sweetness and refreshment to it that can perfectly compliment just about any taste.

And even more rare than finding a person who dislikes orange juice would be finding somebody who doesn’t like freshly squeezed orange juice.

Such a delicacy takes a bit more effort and fruit to make happen, but is also something worth going to extra mile for every time around. (more…)

Trifecta of Biscuits and Gravy

Monday, March 7th, 2016

It’s no secret that in the South, people like to do things big.

Biscuits and gravy

So when it comes to some of our entrees, we make it a point to stick to that idea. We’ve got sandwiches that are more than a handful, breakfasts that will keep you full until dinner time, and even mason jars to serve some of our beverages. In other words, there’s plenty of things on our menu at Huckleberry’s that shouldn’t be taken lightly.

But one thing that also goes big is one of our side dishes at breakfast. A lot of restaurants will offer up one biscuit with gravy as a side dish. Many will even offer up a second biscuit in that mix if you’re really looking to fill up. But how many have a side order of THREE biscuits with gravy as a side dish? (more…)

Time For Our Little Hotties

Sometimes that package comes as simple as a hot iron skillet, loaded with a hearty mixture of meat, vegetables, eggs, cheeses, and more. That’s why at Huckleberry’s, we’ve got our selection of what we call Little Hotties.

There are three fantastic options to choose from, each able to satisfy any mood. And with each of them you’ll get three scrambled eggs, country reds, and a choice of toast, biscuits, or flapjacks.

Breakfast meats, marinated tri-tip, or even a slew of different vegetables are among your options. And they’ll be served sizzling hot right in front of you in the skillet where they were cooked!

Give a try to one of our Little Hotties for your next breakfast with us at Huck’s!

Fruit and Oatmeal Make the Perfect Combo

Monday, December 21st, 2015

Doesn’t it just always seems like a hot breakfast gets the day going a whole lot better than a cold one? It might take a little bit more time to whip up a hot breakfast than it does to do something like pour a bowl of cold cereal, but that time is well worth it in the end. And although it’s among the easiest of hot breakfasts to prepare, oatmeal is also something where you can’t go wrong. (more…)

A King’s Breakfast

Thursday, October 8th, 2015

You may have heard the old adage, “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.” But have you ever stopped to think about what that really means? The word “breakfast,” or “break your fast” (from the night before) provides your body with energy and fuel for the coming day. Skipping breakfast, skimping on calories, or opting for a quick cup of coffee may be a part of your morning routine. However, if you really want to be healthy, rev up your metabolism, and have more energy throughout the day: Eat breakfast like a king.

Studies have shown that eating in the morning, or breaking your fast, increases your metabolic rate. In layman’s terms: it helps you burn more calories throughout the day. If you skip breakfast, or skimp on breakfast, your body holds onto the nutrients from the day before, instead of burning those calories and giving you energy. Besides burning more calories (and losing more weight), big breakfast eaters also have significantly lower levels of insulin, glucose, and fat in their blood, all of which may lead to less risk of heart disease and diabetes.
