Waffle Worship

Tuesday, May 3rd, 2016

Do you remember when donuts first made their debut onto the dessert stage? From basic glazed donuts to chocolate cake donuts frosted with sprinkles, donuts had so many reasons for their popularity.

After donuts came the cupcakes. The simple birthday party treat-turned-dessert blockbuster has had quite a long run. There are cupcake shops sprinkled throughout nearly every mall and free-standing cupcake stores in nearly every town. Cupcakes possess myriad flavors of cake and frosting; and there are even TV shows dedicated solely to the simplistic treat. While we love cupcakes, we’re ready for a new foodie fad.

Enter: Waffles. Originally a breakfast delicacy, waffles are now considered a delicious delicacy any time of day. You’ve probably seen waffles pop up on Pinterest, Instagram, and even in food trucks in your neighborhood: all of them boasting the part-crispy/part-gooey treat. You can jump on the waffle bandwagon any time, and not just at a waffle food truck: Try chicken sandwiched between two waffles, smother your waffle in butter and blueberries, or whip up some cream and Nutella to top off your sweet, crispy treat.

While waffles may be the latest dessert craze, at Huck’s, they’ll always be a breakfast staple. So, come on in, get ‘em while they’re hot!

Chocolate Milk: Not just for kids

chocolate milk

You may make you think twice about what you should drink, especially after a hard workout. Besides water and sports drinks, what else is there? Well, new research suggests that chocolate milk might just be the best beverage of choice. Yes, that sweet, rich chocolate flavor you’ve loved since you were a kid can actually help you have more energy.

While water can certainly replenish you, and can definitely be a refreshment after an active day outdoors, chocolate milk can help fuel your muscles. It has more protein than sports drinks and less sugar. That means, chocolate milk can help keep you hydrated, while boosting your energy.

Next time you finish up a jog, a bike ride, or even playing with your kids, think of refueling with a tall glass of chocolate milk. Or, next time you stop in at Huck’s, order one up for you, and one for the kids. Who knows…it may just help you gain enough energy to get out and play with them some more.

You’ll Love Our Flapjacks

Tuesday, April 12th, 2016

At Huck’s we’ve always got the foods you’re craving.  If your cravings are demanding a delicious breakfast covered in syrup, flapjacks are the answer.  One of the questions we get frequently is what differentiates flapjacks and pancakes and the answer is simple.

The difference between flapjacks and pancakes comes down to their ingredients and how they’re cooked. Flapjacks are flat cakes made out of a mixture of oats and butter with added sugar. They are made in the oven. Pancakes are made out of flour, milk and eggs and are prepared by frying.  Now that we’ve got that cleared up come in and enjoy the best flapjacks around!

Chicken Fried SteakThere’s a lot of great ways to start off your day, and we believe we’ve got some of the best compiled together in our Huck’s Breakfast Platters. With all of them you’ll get three eggs, cooked how you like them, country reds, and your choice of toast, biscuits, flapjacks, or Huck’s Berry Muffin. That right there already has the first meal of your day off to a fantastic start, and that’s without even bringing in the entrée that highlights the entire platter.

One of our favorites, and what is sure to be one of yours too once you’ve tried it, is our Chicken Fried Steak platter. (more…)

Ham & Eggs

ham & eggs

Ham & Eggs go together seamlessly.  They’re a staple of the american diet and for good reason.  Ham is delicious and eggs are delicious.  Both ham and eggs can be a meal all on their own, but when they team up it creates an amazing combination.

At Huck’s we know the value of a good food combination, but we don’t just want it to be good.  We want our food combinations to be great.  That’s why we didn’t just stop at ham & eggs.  We have brought in these traditional favorites and added them to a sandwich, to make a true heavy hitter when it comes to lunch.

Our Ham & Egg Sandwich is on our Favorites Menu for a reason.  There isn’t a better sandwich around because when we put together thin sliced ham, fried egg, fresh tomato and jack cheese it’s a masterpiece!

Chicken Breast

A mammoth burger is always a great option for pretty much any meal. Big, meaty, topped with sauces and vegetables… sounds pretty much perfect.

But what about those days when you feel like something meaty topped with excellence between a bun, but not with beef as the go-to meat in there? We’ve got a solution for that at Huckleberry’s. (more…)

Bacon and egg burgerA burger is one of those things that can be had pretty much anytime. Lunch, dinner, and if done correctly, even breakfast.

Let us just say that while we may not have been the first to have the idea to top off a burger with a fried egg, we’d sure like to high five the person who thought that up. And that’s just one aspect that will kick off your day in an epic way with our Bacon & Egg Cheeseburger.

We start with a 1/3 lb. beef patty on a golden bun, then we top it off with the aforementioned fried egg, bacon, fresh tomato, and cheddar cheese. Coming along with it is a serving of our country reds to give you a mountain of a burger to tackle to start your day. (more…)

The Riverboat Omelet

Riverboat omeletAn omelet with a side of toast is the kind of meal that can add something from every food group. And with several omelet options on the Huckleberry’s menu, as well as an option to create your own, we feel we’ve got something for everyone.

Packed with sausage, onion, bell peppers, tomato, and a mix of cheddar and jack cheese. Top it all off with some Cajun chili, and you’ve got yourself one monster of a breakfast entrée! (more…)
